Who
HIVE retreats are for adults wanting an intentional experience of Big Island immersed in local community and supporting a balance of free-time and connection.
Our guestrooms accommodate individuals, couples, and groups of up to 3 friends/room with a shared guest bathroom and kitchenette.
We also have glamping tents for individuals (no couples/groups) interested in a simpler way to experience the island.
People staying offsite are also welcome to participate in HIVE retreats, whether staying at one of our partner locations or commuting from a local residence etc..
What
We support healing and inspiring retreats with daily programs and services onsite and nearby such as meditation, yoga, dance, coaching, massage and more. We encourage healthy eating, and request no drugs, alcohol or tobacco use in our common areas.
The daily circles we offer onsite support a culture of deep authentic connection in a nonjudgmental space so that you can share openly and feel met by others sharing in the potent experiences Big Island offers. We celebrate each other’s breakthroughs, offer encouragement, provide honest feedback, and discover parallels in our experiences that reflect our universal humanness helping us feel a deeper sense of belonging, support and understanding.
Where
The primary HIVE location is a retreat house in Kalapana Seaview Estates, 12-7045 Wehelauniu St Pahoa, HI 96778.
Our neighborhood includes “the lawn” a park with a panoramic view of sunrise over the ocean where there is at least one weekly festival-like event (usually Sunday evenings).
We are 1.5 miles to Kehena, the best local beach where you can swim in waves. We are 8 miles to Pohoiki where you can soak in volcanic hot springs on the beach. We are one hour to Volcanoes National Park (where you can often see live lava flowing).
When
Starting May 2022, we are offering week-long retreats and guests can book up to 4 consecutive weeks if desired. We have a consistent check-in and check-out day on Fridays offering a rhythm so that guests will experience an open and closing circle with others joining HIVE for a custom retreat.
Rates
Staying onsite:
$600/week for a single occupancy private room including optional daily programs to connect with others at HIVE (including locals and guests)
+$100 per person up to 3 people/room
$300/week for a single occupancy tent spot
$2,000/week to rent the entire guest space for up to 10 guests
(+$100 cleaning deposit returned upon departure less any costs for cleaning/damages)
Staying offsite:
$50/weekly membership to join us for daily connection practices and programs
$100/monthly membership to join us for daily connection practices and programs
Getting Here
We are a little less than 1 hour from the Hilo airport, and a little over 2 hours from the Kona airport. There is the Hele-On bus from the airports (www.heleonbus.org), as well as taxis/ride-sharing apps.
